Second Airline In Two Days Announces Plans To Add South Coast Service

This is a huge week for air travelers on the Central and South Coasts, with word that yet another airline is planning new service to the region.

On Tuesday, Frontier Airlines announced it would return to Santa Barbara Airport with regular service after leaving the market a few years ago.

Then Wednesday, Sun Country announced it will begin seasonal service from Santa Barbara to Minneapolis/St. Paul International Airport. The low cost carrier will offer Thursday and Sunday flights beginning in August.

The airport currently has regular service with Alaska, American, and United Airlines, with 21 daily flights. They now include non-stop service to Dallas, Denver, and Seattle, as well as Los Angeles and San Francisco.
