Father Pleads Guilty To Killing Five Year Old Son, Leaving Body In Santa Barbara County

Aramazd Andressian Sr. and his five year old son Aramazd Andressian Jr., who he admitted killing

A South Pasadena man accused of killing his five year old son, and leaving the body in Santa Barbara County has pled guilty to first degree murder.

Aramazd Andressian Sr. will be sentenced to 25 years to life in prison when he returns to court later this month. Andressian’s defense attorney said his client wanted to plead guilty from the beginning, but the attorney wanted to review the case before changing the plea from not guilty to guilty.

Aramazd Andressian Jr. was last seen alive in April, when his father took him to Disneyland. It led to a massive, weeks long search throughout Southern California. Andressian’s attorney says he eventually told authorities where to find the five year old’s body near Lake Cachuma.

Prosecutors say the killing was motivated by a bitter divorce involving Andressian and the boy’s mother.
