Five hurt when pickup plunges into Oxnard apartment complex

Authorities have identified the driver of a pickup truck which veered out of control into an Oxnard apartment complex, injuring five people.

It happened just after 4:30 Monday afternoon at Gisler Avenue and Elm Streets in Oxnard. Oxnard Police say Sonny Ramos was eastbound on Elm Street when he ran through a stop sign, and crashed into the building. Two of the injured were children pinned under the pickup inside of the apartment. They were a two and a half year old girl, and an eight year old boy who were seriously injured.

The Oxnard man also suffered serious injuries, while two other people escaped with minor injuries. Eight families were displaced overnight by the accident, which heavily damaged the apartment complex. Oxnard
