Private Drones Break No-Fly Zone For Santa Barbara County's Rey Wildfire

Some private drones have created an issue for firefighters dealing with Santa Barbara County’s Rey wildfire. U.S. Forest Service officials say despite federal flight restrictions for airspace in, and around the fire zone to protect airborne firefighting efforts, there have been three drone incursions. Two occurred near Lake Cachuma, and one was off of East Camino Cielo. There were no serious impacts on firefighting flight operations, but two of the drone operators were cited.
