Woman Arrested For Vandalism Of Two Ventura County Sheriff's Office Patrol Units

A young woman has been arrested following the vandalism of two Ventura County Sheriff’s office patrol cars.

Deputies were on foot looking for a wanted person in Saticoy last Saturday night when they received an emergency call for help from Faria Beach. When they returned to their two parked patrol units, they discovered the front window had been broken out of one of them, and the rear window out of the second.

Because of the damage, the deputies couldn’t respond to the emergency call, and other units had to be sent.

Detectives and the gang unit started an investigation. Last night they arrested Melonie Hernandez of Saticoy for vandalism, and being under the influence of drugs. Officers say as they were taking the 18 year old to jail, she vandalized the inside of that patrol car.
