Popular Central Coast Pool Closed Due To Renovation & Coronavirus Set To Reopen

A popular community pool on the Central Coast closed for months is set to reopen.

The pool at Santa Maria’s Paul Nelson Aquatics Center will be available for use again starting July 20th.

People will be able to do lap swimming, as well take part in training programs and fitness courses.  Those wanting to do lap swimming will have to use an online reservation system.

The pool has been closed since January.  It was initially shut down for a renovation project.  Then, the coronavirus crisis delayed it reopening.

In addition to the community pool reopening, the city’s lawn bowling facility is set to resume operations July 20th.  The reopening plan includes steps like social distancing and limiting access to the lawn bowling clubhouse.
