A Ventura County man has been sentenced to more than two decades behind bars for molesting two young girls. In January of 2016, a teenage girl told one of her teachers that she had been repeatedly molested over a three year period, starting when she was nine years old. The school notified Oxnard Police. Detectives say they identified Gregorio Santacruz of Oxnard as a suspect, and linked him to a second victim as well.
Prosecutors say he ultimately pled guilty to four sexual abuse charges. Santacruz was sentenced to 22 years in state prison. The 40 year old man was also ordered to pay $50,000 in restitution to the two victims.
