A Ventura County man is facing multiple child abuse charges after detectives say he molested two stepdaughters over a more than decade long period.
Los Angeles County Sheriff’s detectives say in February, a Lancaster teenager first reported she had been molested. Investigators contacted Ventura County Sheriff’s detectives after learning that the suspected crimes had occurred in Ventura County.
Following a more than two-month-long investigation, Micah Lanere Smith of Camarillo was arrested. Detectives say he physically and sexually abused his stepdaughters for more than ten years. The 41 year old man is facing eight child sex abuse charges.
He’s being held in the Ventura County Jail in lieu of $3.6 million dollars bail.
