President Tours Woolsey Fire Zone, Meets With Some Families Of Thousand Oaks Shooting Victims

Air Force One landing at Naval Base Ventura County Saturday afternoon

President Trump visited Ventura and Los Angeles Counties Saturday, touring a neighborhood wiped out by the giant Woolsey brush fire in Ventura and Los Angeles Counties.   During his brief visit, the President also met with families of some victims of the Thousand Oaks shooting rampage.

The president landed at Naval Base Ventura County just after 3 p.m. Saturday, and was taken to Point Dume, which was hit hard by the fire.

Governor Jerry Brown, and Governor-elected Gavin Newsom were traveling with the President. They spent the first part of the day at the massive Camp fire in Northern California. The three of them presented a united front of cooperation in rebuilding.

After touring the Malibu area, the President returned to Naval Base Ventura County, where he had a private meeting with families of some of the victims of the Borderline Bar and Grill attack in Thousand Oaks which left 12 dead. Afterwards, he said they hugged. He called the shootings “tragic”.

The President left for his return flight to Washington, D.C. just before 6 p.m. Saturday.
