President Trump In Southern California; Touring Woolsey Fire Zone

Air Force One landing at Naval Base Ventura County Saturday afternoon

President Trump is in Ventura and Los Angeles Counties Saturday afternoon, touring areas impacted by the still burning Woolsey brush fire.

Air Force One landed at Naval Base Ventura County just after 3 p.m.  The president is accompanied by California Governor Jerry Brown, Governor Elect Gavin Newsom, and a number of other federal and state officials.

At 3:30, the President headed by motorcade into the Malibu area.  Highway 1 is closed from Naval Base Ventura County until at least 6:30 Saturday night.  The White House didn't releases specifics about the ageda for the visit.

On the flight from Northern California, the President told reporters thatstate and federal pertners were working "very well" together on the fires.  He praised Governor Brown, and said that he is confident Governor-elect Newsom is going to pick up the ball brilliantly.
