Teen Recovering After Being Trapped In Sherpa Fire Zone

An emergency rescue helicopter was called into the Sherpa Fire zone Wednesday when a 19-year-old was discovered trapped in the area.

Santa Barbara County Fire said the teen was disoriented and dehydrated.

How he got there is still unclear.

The fire department says the young male had more than one story about his predicament.

He was located in thick brush about 150 feet below the nearest trail.

The teen is still recovering.

Hot spots in the Sherpa Fire zone are still being monitored by the U.S. Forest service and full containment is expected July 7.
