Voting Underway On Central, South Coasts; Early Turnout Light In Many Areas

It’s of course Election Day, and in addition to the presidential race which is drawing national attention, there are a number of regional, and local candidates and issues on Central and South Coast ballots.

Perhaps one of the biggest local races is for the 24th Congressional District, which has nine candidates seeking to succeed Democratic Congresswoman Lois Capps, who is retiring after nearly two decades in office.

Voters are weighing in on a number of State Senate, and State Assembly seat in the region. And, there are three supervisorial seats up for grabs each in Ventura, and Santa Barbara Counties.

The polls close at eight tonight. KCLU will bring you live national coverage starting at 5 tonight, with local results beginning when the polls close at 8.
