Are You Ready For Some Football? COVID-19 Numbers Drop Opens Door For Games In Santa Barbara County

COVID-19 has created what may be a once in a lifetime scheduling combination for high school sports.

With decreasing cases of the virus in the region, Santa Barbara County has opened the door for a number of youth and sports activities to resume.

March is normally when we think about baseball season, but the county has set the stage for a shortened high school football season, taking place for the first time ever in the first six months of the year.

High schools in the county will be able to take part in a five game season beginning in mid-March.  Coaches and team members will have to wear masks, and undergo weekly COVID-19 testing.

While there will be a shortened season, there will be no league championships or CIF playoff games.
