Coronavirus Surge Prompts Ventura County To Plan New Shutdown Of Most County Buildings

The recent surge in new coronavirus cases on the South Coast is prompting Ventura County to once again shut down most of its government buildings to the public.

Starting Monday, the Ventura County Government Center and other county buildings will be closed to public access.

Certain essential offices will remain open, like county health clinics, the Sheriff’s Office, the County Fire Department, and other public safety services.

People will still be able to get marriage licenses at the County’s Government Center by appointment.

County staff members will continue to go to work, but will offer services to the public remotely, and in some cases by appointment.
