The coronavirus death toll has now reached 36 on the Central and South Coasts. The number of deaths in Ventura County grew from 19 to 24 this week.
Santa Barbara County has had 11 deaths, and San Luis Obispo County one death. Most of the deaths involved older adults with preexisting health conditions.
The total number of diagnosed cases in the region stands at 2333.
Santa Barbara County has 1376, with 936 cases linked to the federal prison complex in Lompoc. Ventura County has 725 cases, and San Luis Obispo County 232 cases.
