After a two-year-break because of the pandemic, the Halloween spirit is back at Santa Barbara Zoo.

Six nights of Halloween happenings, from creepy crawly animal encounters and monster-ous thrills and chills – Boo at the Zoo returns Friday at Santa Barbara Zoo and, said David Velazquez, Director of Business Operations at the zoo. The event returns after a two-year-long hiatus for the pandemic.

"We are expecting anywhere from 2000 adults and children every night," he told KCLU.

"We have fog machines and bubbles and characters walking around. Some mazes and entertainment by a DJ," said Velazquez. "It's a Halloween party, a little bit spooky but not too spooky."

Santa Barbara Zoo's Boo at the Zoo runs October 21 – 23 and 28 – 30 from 5 to 8 p.m.

It’s not the only zoo in our area to be celebrating Halloween.

America’s Teaching Zoo in Moorpark is also celebrating with two weekends of their own Boo At The Zoo event.
