The Santa Barbara Symphony are hosting a free preview of their new season on Thursday

The Santa Barbara Symphony is celebrating its 70th anniversary, and inviting the local community to a free season preview.

The Santa Barbara Symphony has only been able to operate a limited schedule during the pandemic, so it's good to be back, the Music & Artistic Director Nir Kabaretti told KCLU.

"There's nothing to replace live music, people did miss it.

"The social element is important, you want to hear this music together with other people," he said.

Kabaretti explained the new season contains a balance of well-known and little known pieces of music, "that's what I'm excited about," he told KCLU.

Guests on Thursday will hear from Kabaretti, as he explains his inspiration behind the music, and the guest artists that will join the Symphony this season, as well as new community collaborations to look forward to this season.

The FREE Season Preview event takes place on Thursday, September 1, from 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm at The Lobero Theatre. Click here for details and to RSVP.
