Ventura County is one of many places in critical need of blood donors.
Donors of all blood types are needed to replenish the supply – especially type O – the most transfused blood type.
Susan Noone from Vitalent in Ventura says that donors are being asked to urgently come forward.
"Currently we are experiencing an inventory shortage," said Noone.
She said that the most often transfused type of blood, type O, is critically low.
"Type O - we are only about two days in-hand and we need to retain about a four day supply," she said.
