Outside the court, the mother of the boys, a tearful Ms Iskander, told KCLU that it’s been a nightmare.

"Today was another step in the hard journey and Mrs Grossman chose to plead not guilty again of anything that happened and not take responsibility," said Iskander.

"As a mom it's just a nightmare I never thought I'd go through. The loss of the boys was a huge cross for me to carry.

"And then the time - the year and half and then another year maybe to see any justice, is another cross," she said.
