The skies over Santa Maria are set for a treat later this year.

The Canadian Snowbirds formation team and the F-35 fighter jet demo team are a couple of the star attractions for the Central Coast Airfest, which is returning to Santa Maria this Fall, after a two-year break.

Director of the Airshow, Chris Kunkle, says he’s hoping to inspire the next generation of aviators.

"We have been shut down for two years due to COVID, so this is an exciting year to come back," said Kunkle.

"Airshows are an awesome to get kids and young adults out to the airport and get excited about aviation," he said.

The Central Coast Airfest will take place on October 15 and 16.
