Fillmore Library is set for expansion

A project to double the size of a library in Ventura County starts Monday.

The design for the expanded Fillmore Library includes a classroom, two study rooms, an Innovation/STEAM lab/community meeting room, new public computers, new public laptops, useable outdoor areas, new public restrooms.

Nancy Schram is the Library Director at Ventura County Library.

"The expansion project effectively doubles the footprint of the current Fillmore library - meeting the needs of our growing community and providing new services to our customers," she said.

The Fillmore Library will be temporarily closed during construction.

The Ventura County Mobile Library is making weekly stops at Fillmore City Hall on Tuesdays. These stops will continue until the Library reopens.

During the closure period, Fillmore customers may also use the collections, services, and book drops at other Ventura County Library branches.
