When Kamala Harris made history today as the first female Vice President, so too did her husband.
Doug Emhoff became the first Second Gentleman of the United States, and he was educated right here on the South Coast.
It’s not just Kamala Harris making history. It’ll be the first time that the United States has had a second gentleman - Doug Emhoff, her husband.
He is a former student at Agoura High School, in Agoura Hills.
Dr Stephanie McClay, the school’s principal now, says it’s an honor to have Emhoff as alumni.
"He was an incredibly accomplished adult prior to this, so this is the icing on the cake. He takes all of his accomplishments and gets to add first Second Gentleman to the list of things," McLay told KCLU News.
