The holiday tradition of going to see Santa and sitting on his knee hasn’t been possible this year, because of the coronavirus pandemic.
But one festive experience on the Central and South Coast has found a way for families to see him.
The Filmore and Western train is used in movies…and for recreational rides.
This Christmas time, they’re running a magical - and socially distant - hour-long round trip to see Santa at the North Pole.
Josh Carsman is the organizer.
"You hop on the train and it's all lit. You don't get off at the North Pole," he explained to KCLU News.
"We are practicing COVID safety, we require masks and have hand sanitizing stations in all the cars."
Once you get all the way to the North Pole…which takes a half an hour…you wave to Santa in his grotto from the train window…and then ride on back again.
