Christmas Lights Bring Joy To Central And South Coasts

KCLU

Christmas Day is approaching fast and communities across the Central and South Coasts are giving their neighbors some very festive displays.

In Newbury Park, a line of cars filled with excited children are watching a house on Brisbaine Avenue.

Santa is projected on the window. An illuminated singing Christmas tree on the garage is in time to the music…which is being played over a very local radio signal.

Cheryl Cousins from Conejo Oaks Community says that her neighborhood even has a money prize for the best decorated homes, and folks are getting into the spirit more than ever.

"We are having first second and third place prizes. More people are just putting up little thing - just a garland around the door.

"One lady who has lived in the neighborhood for 40 years says she's never seen this many people decorate."

In Santa Maria, the Recreation and Parks department has even created a map for folks who want to drive around the decorated homes.
