South Coast Farmers Reckon With Recent Cold Snap

In Paso Robles, Ojai, and Carpinteria earlier this week, early morning temperatures got down into the low twenties and thirties.

Farmers said that the cold temperatures in the morning were a concern,  although there was no serious damage.

At the Solvang Farmers’ Market, Stacy Moore of Fairhills Farm was delighted that her apples stayed crisp and hearty. However, she did note that the hoses on her ranch froze in the morning.

A local strawberry farmer of Oxnard said that he would love and is hoping to see rain in the upcoming weeks, despite that not being in the forecast.

Andy worked at KCLU from 2016 until 2022.
