KCLU Honored By RTDNA For News Coverage

KCLU has been honored with two 2019 Regional Edward R. Murrow Awards for excellence in news coverage.

KCLU’s Lance Orozco was honored for his live coverage of the Borderline Bar and Grill attack in Thousand Oaks for “Best Breaking News Coverage.”

He also won for “Excellence in Sound” for “The Violin Maker,” a story about an Ojai man who hand crafts violins, and other string instruments.

Both awards are for Region Two Small Market Radio, which includes California, Hawaii, and Nevada. KCLU has now won 40 Regional Murrows, and one National Murrow since 2007.

They are considered to be among the highest honors in broadcast news, and are presented annually by the national Radio Television Digital News Association.
