Separation of Church and State - Where are the Boundaries?

Separation of Church and State - Where are the Boundaries?

The First Amendment prohibits the government from establishing an official “American” religion. For over 200 years this has been a “talking point” many call The Separation of Church and State. But how are the “First Amendment” and the “Separation of Church and State” actually related? Where are the boundaries? When can religion influence lawmaking and where can the government regulate religion? Prohibition of murder is universally accepted but the idea that life begins at conception remains controversial.

Join us at 7 pm on Tuesday, May 19th as the Ventura County Interfaith Community explores the intersection of church and state; where they run smoothly and where they collide. Our panelists will discuss how their religion approaches these questions; where they can agree and where they agree to disagree. The event takes place at the Church of the Epiphany in Oak Park. 5450 Churchwood Dr, Oak Park 91377

This event is offered Free of Charge to all who are interested. Please share this with your friends. To get on our email list for future events visit our website at https://www.vcic.info/ and click on "Stay Informed"
