Local History Happy Hour with John Krist

Local History Happy Hour with John Krist

The Agriculture Museum in Santa Paula invites you to join us for the next installment of our popular series, Local History Happy Hour. In this series, local authors and historians will sit down with The Barbara Barnard Smith Executive Director Elena Brokaw to discuss their unique perspectives on our region’s history and take questions from the audience.

The next episode features John Krist, author of Living Legacy: The Story of Ventura County Agriculture. John Krist is an award-winning photojournalist and former CEO of the Farm Bureau of Ventura, the region’s oldest and largest agricultural association. He is the author of three books on California’s parks and wilderness areas, and his most recent book Living Legacy: The Story of Ventura County Agriculture is at once a local history, a photo essay, and a vital lesson in modern farming. His timely commentaries on land-use policy, natural resources and environmental issues have been published in newspapers throughout the United States. Today he continues to work as a consultant, writer, editor and researcher.
