Echoes of the Earth: Poetry in Honor of Earth Day
In honor of Earth Day, seven poets from Ventura and Santa Barbara County will read original poetry that celebrates nature and humanity’s connection to the environment on Sunday, April 23 at the California Museum of Art Thousand Oaks (CMATO). Echoes of the Earth: Poetry in Honor of Earth Day complements the Museum’s current exhibition, Landscape Through the Eyes of Abstraction, a mixed-media group exhibit that explores the concept of landscapes and humanity’s fraught relationship with the natural world. Participating presenters include, Ann Buxie,poet laureate of Malibu; Anita McLaughlin of Santa Paula; Chris Spangenberg; Enid Osborn, laureate emeritus of Santa Barbara and author of When the Big Wind Comes; Friday Gretchen, author of Unkindnesses; Jennifer Kelley; and Peg Quinn, author of Mother Lode. An open mic will follow the reading
