Celebrating Lompoc's 150th Birthday!

Celebrating Lompoc's 150th Birthday!

Lompoc was established as a temperance colony 150 years ago. The first auction of home lots and farmland took place on the morning of November 9, 1874.
The Lompoc Museum is celebrating Lompoc's Sesquicentennial with a special program on Saturday, November 9. There will be two sessions: 10 am & 2 pm.
The program will include a general overview of the origins of the Lompoc Valley Land Company and establishment of Lompoc. The main focus of the program, however will be on some of the town’s earliest and most popular celebrations - May Day and 4th of July celebrations at Miguelito Park, road races through the streets of Lompoc, and the traveling adult education movement known as “Chautauqua”.
