The Santa Maria Japanese Community Center is accepting submissions of interest and qualifications until January 31, 2022--for an artist to create a monument honoring the Issei (first generation) pioneers of the Santa Maria Valley. The monument will be prominently placed in their future location at Enos Ranch West. The materials used will be up to the artist, with a maximum budget of $50,000. The budget will include artist fees, fabrication, lighting, supplies, labor, insurance, delivery, installation and setup).
