A new research project in the Tri-Counties wants to find out more about the air quality in our homes

An environmental research project is looking for residents in the Tri-counties to take part and you could be paid $500.

Could swapping out your gas appliances make your home healthier? That’s the question researchers want to find answer.

"What we're trying to learn through this project is what happens inside the homes before and after the homeowners make energy efficient and electrification improvements," explained Talia Barrera, who is with the County of Ventura’s Office of Sustainability.

Eligible homeowners in the Tri-Counties could be paid $500 for taking part and also get free home upgrades while researchers track changes.

"We use indoor and outdoor air quality monitoring devices," explained Barrera. "The participants need to have gas burning appliances in the home, that's very important."

More information on how to sign up for the 3C BEACH project is on their website.
