Work is starting to transform Fisherman’s Wharf at Channel Islands Harbor into a new waterfront destination. The wharf in Oxnard was built in the 1960s.
"This is more family-focused than what it was in the past," explained Ventura County Harbor Director Michael Tripp.
The renovation will include the first U.S. location of an internationally recognized German attraction, Karl’s Village.
Tripp said he hopes it’ll be a new era for the area.

"It's going to be playgrounds and rides for small children (and) also a lot of restaurants and good retail. It's not going to be like a Knott's Berry Farm or anything like that. It's a much smaller parcel."
