The Latino GDP Project is being presented in Thousand Oaks and uses publicly available data from major US agencies to give insight of the large and rapidly growing economic contribution of Latinos living in the US.

Did you know that the total economic output – or GDP – of Latinos in the US was $2.8 TRILLION in 2020 - equivalent to the world’s fifth largest GDP.

"This research, frankly, is narrative-changing," explained Dr Matthew Fienup, the Project Director of the Latino GDP Project and Associate Professor of Economics and Executive Director of the Center for Economic Research & Forecasting (CERF) at California Lutheran University.

"What we find very clear evidence of is that Latinos are drivers of economic growth and, perhaps even more importantly, they're a critical source of resiliency for the broader US economy," said Fienup, who will present the researchat noon on Wednesday March 29 at Cal Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks.
