The County of Santa Barbara’s Climate Action Plan outlines the county’s strategy for reducing carbon emissions by 50% by 2030.
"Basically cutting our emissions in half in a decade which is a pretty tall feat," said Garrett Wong, Climate Program Manager for the County of Santa Barbara.
Wong said the plan aims to improve quality of life on many levels.
"When we are doing things that help improve the climate, we are doing things to improve our community," said Wong.
"We are making our communities more walkable, more bike-able and safer to get around," said Wong. "We are making our homes and buildings more energy efficient."
"And hopefully trying to reduce pollution from the vehicles we drive around," he added.
