If weather cooperates, liftoff could be visible throughout Tri-Counties

Get ready for the show! SpaceX is planning to launch a rocket carrying more than 50 satellites into space from the Central Coast.

The Falcon 9 rocket is set for liftoff at 11:12 a.m. Friday. The launch window was pushed back slightly from the previously announced 10:58 a.m. Its payload is 51 small Starlink communications satellites. They would be part of a growing global network of satellites providing internet service to hard to connect areas of the world.

If the weather cooperates, the launch should be visible in much of the Tri-Counties.
