There's a new way for veterans in need to access support, in the Conejo Valley

A local non-profit for veterans and their families is expanding.

The Gold Coast Veteran’s Foundation connects Ventura County veterans with housing and social services, and they’re expanding with a new satellite office in the Conejo Valley opening Wednesday.

"The past few years have been incredibly challenging for veterans and veterans families", explained Bob Harris from Gold Coast Veteran’s Foundation.

He says the new facility will remove some of the barrier for veteran’s in accessing their support.

"The center is dedicated to those veterans who live in the area who find transportation to central Ventura County or our location in Camarillo to be a barrier, " said Harris.

He continued, "Specifically the cost associated with transportation averages about $75 per vet per trip, that's $150 round trip. We can negate those costs by bringing our services to right where the veterans are."
