The big January storm knocked down a tree which damaged a home, and destroyed its garage in Ojai.

Ventura County, state, and federal agencies will be represented at the county's Disaster Recovery Center so people can find out about available assistance.

Ventura County storm victims will be able to apply for federal aid in person starting later this week.

A Disaster Recovery Center will open at the Ventura County Fairgrounds on Wednesday. It will operate from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. seven days a week until further notice.

Ventura County, state, and federal agencies will be represented with information on different types of aid that’s available. With President Biden signing a disaster declaration last week for the county, it opens the door to financial help from FEMA and the Small Business Administration.

Disaster Recover Centers are already open in Santa Barbara County at Direct Relief’s headquarters in Santa Barbara, and at Alan Hancock College in Santa Maria. Tens of millions of dollars in damage has been reported to homes and businesses in the Tri-Counties.
