California Strawberry Festival is coming back, but to a new venue.
"Ventura County is the strawberry capital of Southern California," explained Dean Kato, the Chairman of California Strawberry Festival.
He said that they focus on local produce but do also have some from further afield, like strawberry beers.
"We like to feature local strawberries that are vine-ripened and fresh picked that weekend," he told KCLU.
Kato said the three year break for the pandemic meant they had time to make a few changes, including moving venues from Oxnard to Ventura.
"We are moving to the Ventura Fairgrounds. Being down for three years we've been able to plan for a festival that's sustainable and that we can afford," he said.
Kato said the fairgrounds are the ideal venue for the festival, as it has better transport links and parking for visitors.
The California Strawberry Festival takes place May 20 and 21 at Ventura County Fairground.
