Santa Barbara County Firefighters Have Upper Hand On Central Coast Brush Fire

A brush fire has burned 30 acres of land off of Highway 1 on the Central Coast

30 acres burned; No homes threatened

Santa Barbara County firefighters now have the upper hand on a brush fire which at one point closed Highway 1.

Firefighters say they’ve stopped the blaze near Highway 1, and Jalama Road at 30 acres burned. No structures were threatened. The fire started at around 3 p.m., when a vehicle caught on fire.

Highway 1 reopened to traffic at around 5. Firefighters will be on the scene overnight doing mopup work.
