  • Join Ventura County Astronomical Society for our next Star Party on September 9th at 8:00 pm at Moorpark College Observatory.

    On September 9th we will provide a presentation on the Autumn Constellations, the Stars, Planets, and Mythology. Visible will be Saturn's Rings, Jupiter's Moons and Andromeda Galaxy.

    The evening will start at 8:00 pm with a power point presentation followed by observing through the Dome and member telescopes.

    Tickets for the Dome with be on a first come basis.

    There will be star maps of the night sky while supplies last. Mark your calendars and hope to see you there.

  • "Women in the Sciences” Molly Shelton, Power Systems Engineers at JPL, will talk about her work on CADRE; an all-terrain navigation system to be used in future planetary exploration rovers. It can make decisions without human input. She’ll also have a special message for young women who dream of becoming Aero-Space Engineers. Moorpark College Forum. Admission and Parking free.     • 8 pm Professor Hal Jandorf will use a laser pointer to point out what’s up
    • 8:15 a mystery guest from JPL or NASA will speak on the latest in Space Technology
    • 8:45 – 11 pm Round-Robin observing through dozens of telescopes
