TV producer, writer, director and actor GARRY MARSHALL. He's considered a "One man Who's Who" of Television. He's written for The Lucy Show, The Danny Thomas Show, The Tonight Show, The Dick Van Dyke Show, The Jack Parr Show, and Love American Style. He created 14 prime time sitcoms including Happy Days, Laverne & Shirley, Mork & Mindy, The Odd Couple. During one week in 1979, Marshall boasted four of the top five rated TV shows. As a film maker, Marshall directed Beaches, Overboard, Nothing in Common, The Flamingo Kid, Frankie and Johnny and Pretty Woman. Marshall currently appears in the sitcom Murphy Brown as a feisty network executive. His new book is Garry Marshall Wake Me When It's Funny: How to Break into Show Business and Stay There (Adams Publishing). The book is a behind the scenes look into Hollywood. The book was co-written with his daughter Lori Marshall. The forward in the book was written by Marshall's sister Actress/Director Penny Marshall.
