10th Annual Ventura County Farm Day – “Meet All The Hands That Feed You"
On Saturday, November 5, more than 15 Ventura County farms, ranches and agricultural organizations will invite the public to experience a day of free agricultural activities and tours during the 10th Annual Ventura County Farm Day. This year's theme is "Meet All The Hands That Feed You."
Visitors can map out their day by viewing the Farm Day Trail Map at https://venturacountyfarmday.com/farm-tours. Each site offers tours and produce and other giveaways. Farm Day enables the public to meet the local farmers who grow the food we eat. Tour hours are from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Some require reservations.
Participating in Farm Day include Reiter Affiliated Companies (berries), Driscoll’s (strawberries), Duda Farm Fresh Foods (row crops), Earthtrine Fam (organic vegetables), Alpacas At Windy Hills (Alpaca fleece), Blue Ridge Honey (raw honey), Good Farms Making a Difference (strawberries), Oxnard Historic Farm Park (antique farm equipment, vegetable crops and talks about the agricultural heritage of the Oxnard Plains), Agromin (organic compost and mulch) and Petty Ranch (also the Farm Day hub with additional activities and displays).
Ventura County Farm Day is organized by the nonprofit Students for Eco-Education and Agriculture (SEEAG). SEEAG’s mission is to educate students and the greater community about the farm origins of our food and agriculture's contribution to our nutritional well-being. For more information about Ventura County Farm Day and a list of participating farms, visit www.VenturaCountyFarmDay.com, email seeag.education@seeag.org or call 805-901-0213.

Lobby Hero - Play at the Main Stage
When Jeff, a charming young security guard, is drawn into a local murder investigation, loyalties are strained to the breaking point. Jeff’s tightly wound supervisor is called to bear witness in criminal trial involving his troubled brother. Meanwhile, an attractive rookie cop finds she must stand up to her seasoned but morally suspect partner. Truth, honor and duty becomes elusive, and justice proves costly in this comedic and insightful drama.
Lobby Hero, directed by Cate Caplin, will run for five weekends on the Main Stage from July 8 – August 7, 2022, with Friday and Saturday evening performances at 8pm, and Sunday matinees at 2pm. There will also be a special Thursday night performance on August 4 at 8pm.
A Musical Comedy - “You Haven’t Changed a Bit and Other Lies”
Renowned playwright Jerry Mayer turned 90 on September 5, 2021, his pen and wit sharp as ever. Currently developing his 11th play, he took time out to revisit the acclaimed musical he wrote with son Steve. Now, the Santa Monica Playhouse premiere of this brand-new incarnation of the riotous and poignant musical has been extended, July 23 through August 28, just in time to celebrate Jerry’s 91st birthday and the one-year-anniversary of the musical!
From the hilarious Role Reversal Tango to the tongue-firmly-in-cheek tribute to the not-so-firm Upper Arms of the over 60s set, to the heart-wrenching Whatever Happened to Our Love Song, the Mayer team’s brilliance shines brightly on the trials and tribulations of “aging” - lovingly dissected, shredded, massaged and put back together again, through the eyes of three married couples – Jewish, Italian, Irish - who have known each other for over 35 years. It’s time for a renewal of vows. But much has changed…perhaps too much? Will all three couples make it to the altar again? Only time, and the Mayer team, will tell.
“LIES” plays Saturdays at 7:00pm, Sunday matinees at 2:30pm, EXTENDED July 23 through August 20 only.
Santa Monica Playhouse programs are supported in part by generous grants from the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors through the Los Angeles County Department of Arts and Culture, the City of Santa Monica and the Santa Monica Arts Commission, the Ahmanson Foundation, the Rotary Club Foundation, and Playhouse PALS.
Produced through special arrangement with Playscripts, Inc.
