  • The Fermentation House will host an intimate evening of live music on Friday, March 13, from 6:00–9:00 PM, featuring Southern California artists Dwight Knight and Jayden Secor. The show brings together two distinctive voices in roots-driven and country-rock music for a special night of songwriting, storytelling, and high-energy performance.

Jayden Secor is a country rock artist from Ventura County who delivers a sound that blends modern country with classic southern rock, psychedelic jam, and ’90s grunge influences. As of 2026, Secor has continued to write and grow his extensive catalogue of music while touring regularly with his band across the United States.

Sharing the bill is Dwight Knight, a true rock ’n’ roll raconteur and multi-instrumentalist known for his time with Spitoon, an innovative hick-hop band that shared members with acts such as Heart, Puddle of Mudd, and The Knack. Hailing from Rubidoux, California, Knight’s music is rooted in vivid storytelling that captures life, love, and loss—often delivered with a twang, a grin, and a touch of country flair.

This performance holds special significance as Knight is a former resident of Santa Paula, making the show a homecoming of sorts. After an 18-year hiatus from live performance, he has returned to the Southern California music scene, working on his upcoming record Rust Belt and reconnecting with audiences through intimate venues, coffee houses, and songwriter rounds.

This also marks the first time both artists will appear live in Santa Paula, making the evening a special debut for each in the city. Set against the warm, rustic backdrop of the Fermentation House, the evening promises a compelling blend of seasoned storytelling and emerging country-rock energy.

  • ABSTRACT: The soil system stores twice as much carbon as the atmosphere and all the world’s vegetation combined. The exchange of greenhouse gases between the soil and the atmosphere controls the composition of the earth’s climate.  Over the last two centuries, human actions have increased the flux of greenhouse gases from soil to the atmosphere. Recent studies highlight soil management's role in reversing the increasing concentrations of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere by implementing climate-smart land management practices. This presentation will discuss the fundamental mechanisms by which the soil system controls the earth’s climate and the potential of different land management practices to bend the curve of increasing concentrations of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere.
In addition, Dr. Berhe will discuss her career trajectory from being a professor to leading one of the largest science funding agencies in the nation, infusing the perspective of an earth system scientist into science policy.

  • Join us for a transformative day retreat at a serene private estate in Montecito, where you'll reconnect with your soul, community, and the timeless teachings of the East. This immersive day includes mantra meditation, breathwork, kundalini yoga, sound healing, tea ceremony, conscious connection, and a soul-nourishing, plant-based dinner prepared by Chef Florida of Casa De Las Floras & Chef Stephanie.

This year we will explore the concept of inner peace. Together we will explore the essence of true spirituality and cultivate inner virtues that empower you to live with greater peace, purpose, and connection. The evening will close with music, poetry, and a tea lounge, offering space for reflection and heartfelt community.

This is a rare opportunity and extra special because we will be graced by the venerable teacher, Bhai Bahadur Singh Ji, whom will be traveling all the way from the United Kingdom to be with us for a few precious moments.

Each event there will vary as it is an open forum for discussion for true seekers. We will be in a beautiful intimate setting to be able to receive the authentic teachings of the East by someone whom has walked the path for his entire life.

Since his early childhood, Bahadur Singh Ji, endearingly known as “Bhaji”, grew up in the presence of the respected saints. Bhaji is a 4th generational spiritualist that spent 35 years in the service to His Holiness the late Sant Baba Jaswant Singh Ji Khalsa. The foundational teachings are based in the scriptures of the Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. The Sangat of the Divine Light is a lineage of Oneness in diversity, nurtured in the soil of humbleness, love, and compassion for all.

This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to sit and meditate in the holy congregation with Bhaji and other divine souls seeking connection with the one divine truth.

"Blessed are those who are graced to meditate at the feet of the Sants. Blessed are those who are graced to sit in the company of the true Sangat." - Siri Guru Granth Sahib Dev Ji

The teachings and practices you learn will change not only your spiritual life but also your day to day life. The way you think, reflect, and how you respond to daily stressors such as anxiety, frustration, doubts, fear, worry and other triggers.

These teachings are for all irrespective of your spiritual disposition and background. We will practice in a safe, non-judgmental, and welcoming space.

All are welcome—no matter your background—to experience a day of insight, elevation, and genuine connection.

This event has been sponsored by the generous members of our community to make this experience accessible to all. We are happy to accept a donation to put towards hosting more events like this, but it is completely unnecessary.

Please note there is limited capacity to this event and it sells out every year. Arrival instructions will be emailed to you 24 hours prior to event start.

We look forward to practicing with you.
