Every year, World Dance for Humanity hosts Santa Barbara’s Thriller event, a FREE family-friendly dance party and performance. It's part of “Thrill the World,” a global event that happens each year on the Saturday before Halloween. On that day, about 100 dancing Zombies will rise up at the Courthouse Sunken Gardens, casting away inhibitions to create a SPOOKTACULAR community experience! All ages and abilities welcome!

Rastrelli Cello Quartet
Join us for a spectacular evening of jazz and orchestral classics with the Rastrelli Cello Quartet on October 21 at the First United Methodist Church in Lompoc.
The Rastrelli Cello Quartet, while committed to tradition, is totally detached from conventional approach, which only serves as a solid foundation as they play popular music, jazz, klezmer and tango. The ensemble has built up a unique and broad repertoire, the likes of which can't be found anywhere else.
The concert will include classics such as:
Dance of the Furies from Orfeo ed Euridice, Christoph Willibald Gluck (1714-1787); Pirates of the Caribbean, Hans Zimmer (1957-); Moon River, Henry Mancini (1924-1994); Pink Panther and a Rock Song Book to include the Beatles, Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin and The Rolling Stones.
Tickets can be purchased when the doors open at the First United Methodist Church, 925 N. F Street, Lompoc at 6:45 pm.

Kenneth Kamler, MD
Kenneth Kamler, Md is a surgeon who also climbs mountains. He was team doctor on three expeditions to the top of Mount Everest, including the disastrous 1996 trip during which 6 people died. Kamler is both storyteller and advisor in his book, Doctor on Everest: Emergency Medicine at the Top of the World - A Personal Account including the 1996 Disaster. (The Lyons Press) Blackened limbs due to severe frostbite were the least of his troubles. I-V fluids are frozen solid, and abrasions cannot heal at such high altitudes. Kamler's day job is Director of the Hand Treatment Center in Hyde Park, New York, where he is a microsurgeon. He's done research on telemedicine for NASA and Yale Medical School.
