Spellbound Magic Mashup Benefit Show
Five headlining magicians together on one stage, for one-night only, raising money for the underserved, at risk, and disabled youth of our communities.
Oxnard Performing Arts Center Corporation (OPAC) along with The House of MAGIC Foundation for the Arts are proud to present, SPELLBOUND: Magic Mashup. This one-night show will bring some of the best names in magic to the stage for a fun-filled, family-friendly evening of magic and entertainment. Through the event, the nonprofits aim to raise funding for their programs that benefit the underserved, children at risk, and people with special needs.
While other forms of arts and entertainment are well represented in the County (such as live music and traditional theater), magic is a rare, but truly special part of the performing arts. Both OPAC and House of Magic are dedicated to growing appreciation for the art form. Each year OPAC hosts a weeklong summer camp in Oxnard and made scholarships available to underserved children.
Last year's Magic Mashup was a sell-out performance so make sure to grab your tickets early.

Darryl Maximilian Robinson Talks Poitier On 'The Actor's Choice'
The late, great and beloved Sir Sidney Poitier was born on Feburary 20, 1927 and passed away two years ago on January 6, 2022. Veteran and award-winning stage actor and play director Darryl Maximilian Robinson ( a winner of a 2022 Making The World Happening Award for his numerous online theatre-related offerings at Allevents.in ) encores his on-the-air homage to the Broadway and Hollywood star during his 4th visit to Ron Brewington's "The Actor's Choice" Episode 8.16.
But the real reason why Darryl Maximilian Robinson was present for the Monday April 18, 2022 edition of 'The Actor's Choice' was so that he might have an opportunity to discuss the passing and many artistic and humanitarian contributions of the late, great Hollywood screen and Broadway stage legend Sir Sidney Poitier. And Mr. Robinson was thrilled that Host Ron Brewington gave him a most excellent forum to do just that. Sir Sidney Poitier has left a great legacy for all Americans, but especially for those involved in the arts!
Enjoy.

BLUE MAN GROUP
BLUE MAN GROUP performances are a celebration of human connection. Mixing art, music, comedy and state-of-the-art technology, the show encourages audiences to reconnect with their inner (and outer) child and see the world through a new perspective. Three bald and blue men explore our cultural norms with wide-eyed wonder, poking fun at our collective quirks and reminding us how much we all have in common.
BLUE MAN GROUP is not just a show featuring three bald and blue men, it’s a total immersive experience. We think of the Blue Man as an “everyman” – he really holds a mirror up to us and our culture and helps us laugh at ourselves a bit, and see ourselves and our world a bit differently. The real goal of any BLUE MAN GROUP show is to celebrate all that we have in common as human beings—to celebrate our curiosity, our creativity, and our need for community.

Gershwin’s jazzy musical postcard, An American in Paris, highlights this program of America’s masters as the nation turns 250. Alexi Kenny, acclaimed by The New York Times for virtuosity that is “breathless and often daring” plays Barber’s haunting Violin Concerto. Charles Ives’ vibrant Three Places in New England presents portraits of patriotism. And the inner glow of Jennifer Higdon’s Blue Cathedral will soothe long after its sumptuous sound fades to silence.
