  • The 68th Annual Conejo Valley Days is set for June 20 through June 30 (dark, June 24 and 25) at Conejo Creek Park South (23 Freeway/Janss Rd. exit) in Thousand Oaks. Festival goers can enjoy carnival rides from Kastl Amusements plus midway games for all ages along with traditional fair foods. CVD features live rock and country bands including the Colette Lovejoy Band, 805 Social Club, The Tin Drum Family Band and Double Wide. Entry: $10 per person, free for kids 10 and under. Active-duty military with military I.D., free. $40 unlimited ride wristbands are available for June 20 and June 27 only.   • Noon Concerts at Trinity Santa Barbara opens the Fall 2024 season on Thursday, September 5, 2024 with Music for Flute, Bassoon and Harp featuring Heather Clark, flute, William Wood, bassoon, and Marcia Dickstein, harp. Ms. Clark and Ms. Dickstein will perform Nino Rota’s Sonata for Harp and Flute (1937). They will be joined by Mr. Wood for Craig Phillips’ Suite for Flute, Bassoon and Harp (1999).

    Nino Rota (1911 - 1979) is best known as a film composer collaborating with Frederic Felleni (La Dolce Vita, 8 ½, Romeo and Juliet) and Francis Ford Coppola (Godfather series). Craig Phillips is a distinguished and popular American composer and organist who is the Director of Music at All Saints’ Church, Beverly Hills. His choral and organ music is heard Sunday by Sunday in churches and cathedrals across the United States, and many of his concert works have been performed throughout North America, Europe and Asia.

    Heather Clark is principal flute of the Los Angeles Opera Orchestra, Hollywood Bowl Orchestra, Pasadena Symphony Orchestra and the Long Beach Symphony Orchestra. She has performed on over five hundred film and television soundtracks, often as principal flutist, for many of the greatest film composers of our time, including John Williams, Randy Newman, Michael Giacchino, Hans Zimmer and Danny Elfman. A world-renowned harpist, Marcia Dickstein has been enticing new audiences to harp in chamber music and solo with orchestra, and inspiring composers to write new works for harp in classical and jazz genres, for many years. Founder/Artistic Director of The Debussy Trio, she has performed worldwide, in the United States, Canada, Europe, Scandinavia, and Japan, over NPR radio, PBS, and numerous TV channels. William Wood is a member of the Los Angeles Opera Orchestra, New West Symphony, Riverside Philharmonic, and the Los Angeles Master Chorale Sinfonia Orchestra. He is an avid chamber music performer and is the Artistic Director and Founder of Noon Concerts @ TrinitySB, bi-monthly free thirty-minute concerts at Trinity Episcopal Church in Santa Barbara.

    Noon Concerts at Trinity Santa Barbara began in December 2017 through December 2019 until COVID interrupted in March 2020. Concerts resumed in April 2022, with a variety of musical styles - jazz, classical, broadway, popular music. There is always something for everyone during thirty minutes of Midday Musical Magic! Please join us! All are welcome. Admission is free, goodwill tax-deductible donations are accepted at the door.   • Join the Pierre Claeyssens Veterans Foundation for a festive concert featuring Santa Barbara’s beloved 75+ member Prime Time Band on Thursday, July 4th at 5:00 PM, located at the Santa Barbara County Courthouse Sunken Gardens (1100 Anacapa St, Santa Barbara, CA 93101).

    Delight in an hour of patriotic and inspiring music! The musical lineup includes tributes to the Olympics and John Williams, as well as celebrations of the 100th anniversaries of Santa Barbara’s Fiesta celebration, and the Granada Theatre. Special guest vocalist Anikka Abbott, TV News Personality, will perform.

    Arrive early to secure a spot on the grass; bring your picnic, blanket, and low beach chairs for this free annual celebration.

  • The sixth annual Santa Barbara County Farm Day is Saturday, August 24 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. On Farm Day, more than 10 Santa Barbara County farms, ranches and agricultural organizations open their doors to the public. Visitors experience free behind-the-scenes farm tours, tractor with trailer rides, tastings, giveaways and kid-friendly activities. Attendees can tour farms that produce specialty crops, seasonal produce and berries, wine grapes and livestock. With the help of the online Farm Day Trail Map, the public can pick which farms to visit and then map out the day’s driving itinerary. Farms are primarily in Santa Maria, Santa Ynez Valley and surrounding areas.
