    Funding for more than 50 students has been provided by the Swenson Science Summer Research Fellowships, John Stauffer Research Fellowships in the Chemical Sciences, Culver Behavioral Science Fellowship, Fletcher Jones Fellowship, Pearson Scholars Summer Program for Leadership and Engagement in a Global Society, G.A. Foster Family Foundation, and Cal Lutheran.

    Students were also funded by the National Science Foundation, the U.S. Department of Education grant program ALLIES in STEM, and the Ronald E. McNair Postbaccalaureate Achievement Program.

  • Exploring Creativity - Ages 6 – 11 Exploring Creativity nurtures and promotes creativity in Elementary students through fun activities and art projects. Classes cover a variety of mediums.
  • A Songwriter’s Open Mic
    Hosted by Ventura songwriter Henry Stewart

    This is an evening of acoustic open mic musical entertainment for songwriters. Our focus is to give voice to our local talent in an environment that promotes a professional show experience complete with a quiet and attentive audience of our peers. We have performers come from far and wide to enjoy our stage. Doors open at 6 pm, Henry warms up the mic at 6:45, and the show starts at 7 pm. Each performer gets 10 minutes in the spotlight. One cover song only per set. We are thrilled by the amazing amount of talent, of all ages, that forms our Listening Room community!

    This event is a community fundraising show that encourages donations to support our Namba Performing Arts Space. Drinks will be available for purchase. Vocals and instruments will be run through the excellent sound system; microphones, monitors, direct in jacks, and the house grand piano are available.

    Both Lloyd Kahn & Bill Steen have long been fascinated by the human story of shelter. In books and practical teachings, they have shared how diverse cultures adapt and build shelter according to their needs, using materials close at hand often with great beauty. Bringing it into the present, both write and teach to modern day audiences. Come learn & share their journey and experiences.
