  • The 67th Annual Conejo Valley Days is set for June 15 through June 25 (dark June 19 and 20) at Conejo Creek Park South (23 Freeway/Janss Rd. exit) in Thousand Oaks. Festival goers can enjoy carnival rides from Kastl Amusements plus midway games for all ages along with traditional fair and specialty foods. CVD features live rock and country bands including the Colette Lovejoy Band and 805 Social Club, and line dancing led by instructor Kristal Lynn. Entry: $10 per person, free for kids 10 and under. Active-duty military with military I.D., free. $35 unlimited ride wristbands are available for June 15 only.   • The Carpinteria Valley Historical Society and History Museum will host its popular Marketplace on Saturday, March 25, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the museum grounds at 956 Maple Ave. in downtown Carpinteria.

    The Marketplace is a treasure trove of handcrafted gifts, toys, antiques, furniture, jewelry, clothing, plants, musical instruments, household items including quilts, kitchenware, and chinaware, and tons more. Prices at Granny’s Attic, the booth operated by the museum, start at 25 cents.

    The free admission to the Marketplace also includes entertainment by local musicians. Hot dogs, cold beverages, and snacks will be available for purchase.

    Santa Barbara embraces its fifth year of celebrating the Transgender Day of Visibility with music, community, and an art show featuring transgender, non-binary, and genderfluid artists. The Santa Barbara Transgender Advocacy Network will be hosting this very special event on Saturday, April 1st, at the Unitarian Society of Santa Barbara, from 5pm-9pm.

    This event brings our transgender community together to showcase our musical and artistic talents, share personal stories, and celebrate the progress and love within our community.

    New to the event this year is an art show featuring transgender, nonbinary, and genderfluid artists of any age. Art submissions are being accepted until March 26, 2023. Interested artists should contact info@sbtan.org for more information.

    Local chef Eileen Randall will be bringing back her famous baked potato bar, which is included in the price of each ticket. There will also be wine and beer available for purchase by those 21 and over.

    All proceeds from the event support the work of the Santa Barbara Transgender Advocacy Network, which provides advocacy, education, support and celebration for transgender, nonbinary, and genderfluid individuals and their families.
