Ventura County has made the latest move in what’s been sort of a round of musical chairs in running the region’s animal control programs. Jackie Rose has been appointed as the new Director of Ventura County Animal Services. She’s been in the field for more than a decade, most recently running a county program in Portland, Oregon.
Rose will oversee the county’s two animal shelters, and a staff of more than 75 people.
Rose fills the vacancy created by the departure of Tara Diller, who parted ways with the county last year under contentious circumstances.
Diller was hired this month to head Santa Barbara County Animal Services.
